Jamilah Sabir-Calloway

A former finance industry executive, Jamilah Sabir-Calloway is President of the Rites of Passage Youth Empowerment Foundation (“Rites Foundation”). Ms. Sabir-Calloway is the Executive Vice President for Development of the Heart of Africa Holding Corporation, which is currently contracted with a project whose profits will be used to fund Rites of Passage University Learning Centers in 36 urban cities. Ms. Sabir-Calloway has over twenty years of administrative and executive management experience in various fields of business including national media, state legislature, school administration and business finance. She has over ten years of broad experience in the investment management field. As Vice President and Corporate Secretary of New Africa Advisers, an institutional investment firm specializing exclusively in African securities, Ms. Sabir-Calloway trained personnel and assisted in establishing the firm’s offices in Johannesburg, South Africa, and Nairobi, Kenya. She managed its headquarters office in Durham, NC until January 1999 when she retired to pursue her passion of empowering young people as a motivational speaker and conducting workshops and seminars nationwide.

Ms. Sabir-Calloway’s “Next Steps©” empowerment workshops for young women have been certified by the Rites Foundation. These weekend retreats are designed to shepherd young women through their own personal inward journey into the next steps of adulthood. Ms. Sabir-Calloway is a professional photographer and has traveled extensively throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa. She attended the University of Khartoum, in Sudan, East Africa, where she studied Arabic, African History and French. She also studied French at the Migro Institute in Geneva, Switzerland.
